Leasowe Castle Liverpool
The castle was built in 1993 by Ferdinand Stanley the 5th Earl of Derby. It is said he had it built so he could easily watch the horse racing on the Meols Sands. The castle only consisted of a tower and by 1700 it was disused. The Cust family became the new owners in 1821 and they refurbished and extended the building. In 1926 it became a hotel, and then a convalescent home, the Wirral Council then became owners, before it once again became a hotel. Lawton Hotels Ltd acquired the property in 2000, as well as a hotel it is a popular venue for family functions and weddings.
The castle is said to be haunted by a man and a young boy who wander along the corridors and often scare the owners and guests with their antics.
