Kongamato

There have been reports of this creature, whose name translates to `breaker of boats’, for over 100 years in Zambia, Angola and the Congo. It is described as a flying creature with red leathery wings and no feathers, is extremely nasty and is likened to the (extinct) pterosaurs.  Many people have written about their sightings of the creature with the first most notable one in 1932 when Frank Wellard wrote about it in his book In Witch-bound Africa. Even though many have claimed to have witnessed it no evidence has ever been gained to prove its existence.
