A chilling image has emerged of what appears to be a female vampire ghost in the process of possessing the body of an innocent woman.
The picture was taken during a police raid on a karaoke bar in the city of Probolinggo, in the south eastern Indonesian province of East Java.
When the image was examined it appeared to show the karaoke assistant with a grotesque supernatural face and glowing eyes.
And after being widely shared went really viral when a local supernatural expert confirmed that the image showed a supernatural being covering the face of the young woman.
Ahmad Hasyim said that he believed the supernatural spirit was a jinn, a type of Islamic genie, who had taken the form of a female vampire ghost known as a kuntilanak in Indonesian mythology.
The images got so much panic and debate on social media, the police were forced to issue a denial that never been a ghost at the scene.
Probolinggo Police Chief Alfian Nurrizal posted a message on the official police website sale simply a woman wearing a black floral patterned veil.
He said: “When the photo was taken, the veil was used to cover up the (karaoke attendant’s) face. As for the glowing eyes, that was caused by the camera phone’s flash.”
“We hope the public will stop speculating and spreading this hoax about a ‘ghost sighting’ photo that could disturb the public.”
