Towneley Hall Burnley

The hall had always belonged to the Towneley family, who were an important catholic family; it also had its own chapel. They owned it for over 500 years until 1902 when they sold it to Burnley Corporation due to the male line of the family being in decline. Today it is a museum which holds a variety of displays.

The hall is thought to be haunted by a few ghosts, such as a male who likes to play with the lights and make strange sounds, and in the grounds by the bridge is a female in white also the sound of marching has been heard.
